SYMPOSIUM ANNOUNCEMENT

The 2006 World Conference on Arts Education, held in Lisbon, Portugal, sparked the National Arts and Learning Symposium at the University of Ottawa on May 3-4, 2007, that attracted more than 100 delegates from across the country. Following the recommendations from that Symposium, we are pleased to announce the forthcoming Canadian Arts and Learning Symposium, scheduled for October 29 – 31, 2008, at the Faculty of Education, Queen’s University, Kingston, Ontario. Our twin goals are the enhancement of arts and learning in Canada and helping to prepare the Canadian response to the next World Conference on Arts Education in Seoul, South Korea, in 2010. Our main theme this year is “Network Building within Canadian Arts and Learning Communities”. Included in this announcement are attachments inviting academic papers, poster sessions and workshops, for 2008. We invite you to consider attending this Canadian Symposium and urge you to pass on this invitation to all who might be interested. Details, as they are developed, will be placed on our web-site at www.eduarts.ca as of June 30, 2008. Please consider being involved in our collective quest in support of arts and learning throughout Canada.
